Various Artists : Réplicas [Jazz Series #02]

“2010 was the year of the earthquake with 8.8 magnitude on the Richter scale that strucked Chile on February 27th. 2010 was a year of abundant subsequent earthquakes associated with the main event. In Concepcion, the major southern city which experienced the greatest damage, the music overcame the experience, and in the capital, Santiago, jazz musicians initiate systematic record productions in public clubs to process this impact. Replica is the title of the composition specially commissioned by pianist Mario Feito whose trio completed two years of weekly performances at the club Five Minutes. This is the theme that leads this new collection a year back when jazz was extremely moved by those earthquakes.”
