“With their fifth album in total, Zengineers carefully and consciously take two steps back from everyday life and contemplate what becomes visible when the veil of reality drops. Following them in their tracks, your gaze might be opened for a realm of existence which is being populated by ever-hungry ghosts. Beings that are condemned to vegetate in eternal balefulness due to their insatiable desires. What might be mistaken solely for social critcism laced with buddhism also emblematizes accurately the tragic of interpersonal relationships as well as the artist’s obsession to perfect his own creations. Drawing energy from contemplation, Zengineers carefully and consciously now take one step forward and enrich their specific mixture of drum’n’bass, worldmusic, downbeat and pop with live elements of guitars and percussion which add a psychedelic facet to the eclectic interplay of intricate, aggressive beats and neat, blissful song-passages.”

RUI GATO & HIRAKU SUZUKI // Beam Drop [tube222]

“The Beam Drop sculpture is a very powerful experience. This recording is the result of our very short and fast contact with the Beam Drop. Both of us were immediately attracted to the sonic dimension of this work, during the visit to the Inhotim Centre. We found the sculpture at different moments in the first day, and agreed to go back the next day and try to get some music out of it, and record it. We did it in one continuous take, due to time limitations of the visit (everybody was waiting for us to get back to the bus), and we are glad it was so.
It is presented to you unedited, only with 7 divisions that seem logic and natural to us when listening” (Rui Gato & Hiraku Suzuki).

“Stellardrone is a pseudonym of an amateur composer (Edgaras, b.1987, Lithuania, Vilnius) who started creating music in 2007. Using only computer software (Reason, Ableton, Audacity) and virtual synthesizers. He is mostly interested in ambient/electronic/space music. Releasing all albums for free and promotes free sharing of digital copies. His main inspirations are Kelly Bailey (computer game composer), Aaron Marshall (emerging film composer), Brian Eno, Tangerine Dream, Altus, Vangelis and Aphex Twin’s selected ambient works.”
