Danny Lover : Cheese & Wine [Vial Life]

“After backpacking across the country, dropping acid, having sex with hundreds of women and developing a xanax dependency, the man formerly known as Rick Heisz has returned. However, much has changed. Spending months sleeping in the backseat of a 1996 Jeep and neglecting reality has created a downward spiral. His friends now hate him, family has abandoned him, girlfriend dumped him and former drug dealers will not sell to him. It was time for Rick to reinvent himself with a new outlook on life. On July 18th, 2013, Rick woke up dazed on a sunny beach in the middle of nowhere. Running his toes beneath the sand, spending his last hard earned dollars on a pack of cheese slices and a bottle of cheap wine… he gazed into the sun once and Danny Lover was born. Produced by 19.thou$and, Recorded, mixed, mastered by Micon.”

Kodek – Future Wave EP [Dirty Deal Audio]

“At last we are putting out music by probably the most noticeable persona amongst Latvian electronic producers and performers — the Gameboy™ genius from Madona — Kodek. He is known for his passion for various music making hardware and his computer free production approach, yet anything Kodek-related is unimaginable without the trashy neon colored MS Paint-ish visual accompaniment which comes along with every message and video he posts. While performing live on stage his outfit and attitude completely embodies the wonky spelling of his facebook posts and aesthetics of the kodekvevo4444 tumblr. Whether he’s wearing a 90’s vintage tracksuit or a superhero suite made out of cardboard and foil, it’s always as Kodek as it gets.

Previously he has toyed around with numerous dance music styles and has adopted multiple aliases, such as for ghettotech productions and $KODEK VAN BUUREN for overall avant-garde. Now his experiments have reached the realms of electro, so on Future Wave you can expect vocoded vocals, spacey bleeps and fat beats. Almost all sounds you’ll hear throughout the EP are synthesized by Kodek himself, and ‘Future Now’ is made using only one synth — the Korg Monotribe.”

Various Artists : De Gulden Snede Vol.2 [INI014]

“De Gulden Snede series evolved as a medium through which we could shed light on genuine artists pushing forward the stylistic barriers of electronic music. As the years progressed so has this noble concept.
For the second installment, De Gulden Snede Vol. II, we seek to share with our audience the sounds, ideas, and artistic movements (music and visual art) weíve been exploring over the past year. Besides the altruistic tendencies, this compilation serves as a platform to showcase emerging artists, beat makers and producers associated with INI Movement. De Gulden Snede Vol. II is a testament to the hard work and creative perseverance of featured artists. On a broader level, this compilation is a curatorial statement to the sound of our label.”

DeepWarmth : Ratio (Of Silver) [BC27]

“Prefacing his upcoming debut album for RP (Start Of An Ending, scheduled for release sometime in 2014), DeepWarmth provided us with a lovely expanded-single for his dub techno missive Ratio (Of Silver). Watery, wavering chords rain softly down on a static bass and kick rhythm that never deviates from its train track. DeepWarmth revisits and revises his cut on a version, then pulls the curtain back to allow a few other producers to have their own things to say through the window of “Ratio”.

Textural Being, appearing here under his newer alias aspect., brings an overwhelmingly feel-good organic techno mix, with hints of lush summery house. Zander One bathes ‘Ratio’ in blue water, freezes it and then slowly thaws it beneath a soft orange lamp. Optic_ reduces it to a gentle fog of wafting chords and nearly unspoken whispering delay trails, while Axs creates a Red Dye reshape that removes ‘Ratio’ from techno confines and transports it to a distant land, somewhere far East, in a crimson desert adorned only by metal bells and stretched-skin drums that are occasionally moved into musical shapes by the lonesome wind. Following this, Ocralab dials in with his usual isolationist approach, sending ‘Ratio’ out into the Earth’s atmosphere and re-recording it as it bounces back to him over secret radio waves. Closing the experience is an atmospheric Coppice Halifax remix that burns the original track to ashes, makes pigment with the remains and paints a colorfully subdued piece of Impressionist techno across a sunsetting skyline.

Altogether, the single that becomes an album is a surprisingly varied listen, with very little resemblance to the source material from track to track, and leaves us with high hopes for the next DeepWarmth excursion at RP.”

Various Artists : Aliases Vol.1 – 1 Particle, 2 Places

1 particle, 2 places. 1 musician, 2 spaces.

There is experiments of quantum physics that place an alone sub-atomic particle in 2 different places simultaneously. Probably our brain is still not prepared to really understand this. Nevertheless this compilation use the experiment as base of its own existence.
Most of the producers, when they work on their studios to build songs, end up by experimenting with genres or sub-genres that do not ‘fit’ with themselves or are not their official tendency.
Here we compile these works, this places where the mind of the musician does not have social or artistic limitations due to the fact that he/she has a strict public or a project that limits him/her.

Under this premise, the freedom and the experimentation, we have caught few Electro composers so they could give us their ‘bastards’ creations.

But, the experiment doesn’t end here … Any of them are allowed to use their known names or their artistic known projects. All of them had to create an alias, a never used name and they have the commitment to keep it private.

Even between their release mates, the identities aren’t known.”
