“This year La bèl will turn 5 years old and we wanted to celebrate its birthday by publishing a La bèl compilation with all the artists that collaborated with us during these years. The idea is to ask each one of their for a ‘pop’ track, leaving complete freedom to their personal interpretation of this word. We think this would be a nice idea, since hardly any of their works within the ‘pop’ scene. La bèl pop (fifth anniversary compilation) is the final outcome of this experiment.

This compilation is published to coincide with the first Netlabel Day.”

“Toronto house producer, Oreste Camarra teams up with singer/songwriter and guitarist Marcus Wong to deliver Neighbours, a fusion of jazz, rock, house and techno. Oreste and Marcus first became friends when they became neighbours two years ago and their love of music spawned their infectious collaboration.

Neighbours evolved from numerous jam sessions taking place over the last 6 months. The opening title track is an uplifting, evolving, organic house track layered with jazzy inflected guitar noodling and combined with a sort of laidback warmth and charm that is bound to put your soul at ease. ‘Oak and Eli’ is a down-tempo slow-burning jam combining electric guitar and sparse organic percussive sounds. Closing the EP is ‘Earlscourt Park’, a playful number that features classic guitar chords, rhythmic organic percussive sounds and sunny feelings.”

50 songs by 50 Artists from 5 Years.

Subbass started in 2010 with the ‘Dubstep Made in Germany’ compilation issue – to the beginning we had a monthly dubstep party for several years on the run. Most of our guest DJs besides produced their own music. Dubstep was here still underground, so near nobody had published anything. To give the underground producers a base, the idea for the compilation was born. this series presents Bass Music producers from the German Scene, for which the production of tunes is a big part of their passion in supporting the emergence and rooting down of sustaining structures for low frequency music. So far we have published seven Compilations.”
