Various Artists : Noesis [stasis019]

Posted by f.a.r.e.s on

“Dear Friends and Listeners,

We are glowing with joy and radiant glory, as we celebrate one more year of Energostatic Records! These three years we were releasing music at a leisurely pace, helping young artists to get themselves heard and enlighten mental sparks of human cognition.

We explore the multi-dimensional manifold through musical impacts and we continue Noesis – purely intellectual apprehension of universal forms, the exercise of reason.

We are logic. We are dialectic.

We flow.

We send special thanks and warm greetings to all people that have contributed to the label or we have been working with along the way! Merry Christmas and happy New Year!”

Taneli & Frankie Soukal : Construct Q / Mr. Prince

Posted by f.a.r.e.s on

“Surprise!

Happy holidays from Group Hug! As a special gift from us to you, we’re proud to announce the arrival of FREE HUGS, a new series of split releases from up-and-coming artists we really love.

The first edition of the series sees two previous Group Hug collaborators step up to the plate.

Since dropping his debut EP ‘Positivity’ with us in 2012, TANELI has been going from strength to strength, racking up remix and production credits for the likes of Chvrches and ETML. His Free Hugs offering Construct Q is a downright beautiful piece of low-slung house music, led by a hypnotic, jazzy piano line.

After delivering a cracking remix of Maxime F’s ‘On Monday’ for Group Hug last year, we thought it only right to get FRANKIE SOUKAL back on the label in 2013. Adorning the flipside of this release is Mr. Prince, his club-friendly rework of the Grüvis Malt track of the same name.”

“bristophe is an improvising duo that consists of brice catherin (from france, based in geneva) and christophe schweizer (from switzerland, based in germany). between them they play instruments like: cello, trombone, a bit of electronics, tuba, a touch of clarinet, plus e.g. recorder and other flutes, double bass, alpine horn, voice, bird calls, a few toys, etc. occasionally the two meet in one place, and that’s when sound happens.
their first album for pyr, le fils de la prophétesse is a two disc set that clocks in at over two hours. the first disc contains almost sixty miniature improvisations the create a whole. the second disc is more long-form, but the two relate as one.”
