Various Artists : Shunt EP [CICUTA009]

“May is the gateway to the summer, a month of contrasts, from the summer heat to the cold spring. For Cicuta Netlabel, this release is a good analogy to this, because we can go from poweful and dark techno to the most melodic and danceable techno.

We open the EP with Irish Luke Creed, one of the headers of new techno generations. At just 23 years has managed to publish in some of the most influential labels, such as TMM Records, Elektrax or Heaven to Hell, getting very good feedback from the heavyweights of the scene. It is also Gobsmacked Records label manager with Diarmaid O’Meara, which has been working since 2007 with a great success.

We continue with one of the new values of the prolific Spanish quarry, Jose Pouj. After releasing on labels such as Tsunami and Warm Up, no one doubts the quality and talent of this producer. Another project in which is having success with his own label, Injected Poison, which is distributed worldwide and features artists like Oscar Mulero or Kike Pravda.

The next artist that we present is the Australian Allan Nonamaka, co-manager of Fervent label, and an excellent producer. Although it may sound unfamiliar to someone, has already published two references in Labrynth and published with Inigo Kennedy in Fervent, so stay tuned, is a name to watch.

Then we return to the national product, presenting an issue of Moitan, whose components are old acquaintances and friends of Cicuta, Loisan and Mootiv. As separately, his style is fresh, dynamic, with a techno that does not let you have your feet on the ground, with lots of groove.

Another old friend who returns to publish with us is David Reina, who this time brings a deep track, hypnotic, not for heart disease. Possibly one of the best work we’ve had the pleasure of publishing in our short existence.

Finally, as usual, from Drugstore we present our own work. This time we bring a very eclectic track, without style, designed for people with no musical barriers and prejudice.”

“Flumo ends its time as a netlabel to continue with two seals, Flumo Recordings and Flumo Limited. Started as one of the pioneers of netlabel platforms, spreading cutting-edge music content for 6 years. The best way to celebrate the icing with all of you who have followed and supported us in this journey, is giving away this Studio Takes LP, signed by the brilliant and unclassifiable Jazzler aka Dixie Yure, as a free download.”

Various Artists : In Dub We Trust [did-070]

“Walking spirits are back! … With immense pleasure I present this compilation, long expected, although in this case, a dub delay it’s almost poetic … Deepindub is proud to present these artists, names well known to many, but not for all … and this is our mission to spread your music in the world.

This compilation, is free, but it does not mean that these artists produce only free music. Indeed, it is usually the opposite … but there are the exceptions in life 😉 With most of them, there is a history between us, with some also started many years ago. … As I write, I’m listening to your music … looking at the sky, which is now more beautiful than usual.

What could I add? everything! this compilation is strictly dub techno, with some nice deep house tracks, but the best thing is that you download, listen to each song, the emotions that you send, they are unique … Here they are together : Russia, America, Europe, North, South, East & West, whites, blacks, we are all equal, we are one, united by a common love, called music!

We can teach something to this world based on money? Utopia … but we try anyway! … throwing this bomb of love!!”

Dual Soul : Darkside EP [SLXR011]

Dual Soul are Alan Ojeda and Lucas Martins, two guys from Buenos Aires (AR). They have techno – minimal music in the blood. Their style is very dark and the flow is special. Darkside EP is composed of two original tracks and two remixes by Felix Lorusso and Braian Navas. We don’t really like to describe in words the music, we prefer to go to listen.”

T Bird : T Bird Is Good For You [sec.068]

T Bird a.k.a. the musical wonderkid Tim Crane is the gravel-voiced front-man of criminally underexposed Texan heavy funk and soul outfit T BIRD & THE BREAKS who released their debut album “Learn About it” in 2009. The band have dropped a number of breaks-heavy funk nuggets since it´s release and now T Bird Is Good For You sees Crane stepping out on his own.

Given that he’s a man who loves his hip-hop as much as his funk and soul, it’s no surprise that Crane ends up at the place where G Love, The Beastie Boys and indeed his own band intersect. The album is a walk through the garden of P-Funk, Oldschool Hip-Hop, Dr.John´s Voodooed landscapes as well as Gospel Hymns and Soul/Garage 60´s style.

All in all it´s a fantastic album rooted in the whole American Music Underground culture from the 50´s and up to this day. An evergoing party. It´s good for you.”
