Abstract Nostalgic Fractals Systems : The Inner Peace [bump170]

The Inner Peace is the debut full-length of the ambient techno/dub techno duo Abstract Nostalgic Fractal Systems. The album was preceded by mx01 EP, released in November 2011. The duo comments that ‘the album is a repetitive addition to our first EP’ and ‘is an album that grows inside you, when the more you listen to it’. The Inner Peace follows the minimalistic style of mx01 EP, with long and repetitive compositions. M1A1 stated that ‘[he] was tired of using only synthesizers on a PC’. For the album, M1A1 wanted to leave aside the digital synthesizers and samplers on laptop: ‘The album is a battle space of 55 minutes between analog and modular tones, modulated noises and field recordings’.”

Myniciush : Los Cucos Curtidos [blpsq018]

Bleepsequence is happy to welcome Myniciush to the fold, who are quickly building a reputation for themselves in the netaudio world with their take on unconventional downtempo techno. Their three pieces here for Los Cucos Curtidos definitely take their time to generate a head space, and proceed to immerse the listener into some kind of dark and devious coffee house where the barista might have slipped something into your espresso. Some of our blpsq regulars popped in for a drink as well, along with a first time visit from m_Patcher (aka booPhases), and all of them bring their own unique blends to round out the release.”

Fingers In The Noise : Echo System [did-065]

“The Maextro (Fingers In The Noise) is back with a stunningly deep Album, somewhere between vintage balance/prescription smoothness, gentle dub-house and subtly darker territories.”

B Mus : Nothing As It Seems [sp12]

“Following on releases for OC-Records, Aesthetic Circle & a 12” for Komplex Audio, B Mus kicks off the new year at Sublime Porte with his new album Nothing as it Seems, including remixes from Grad_U, Zzzzra and a version of our own.

‘Ocean Ground’ starts off with underwater dub chords in the style of The Nautilus Project, building a vast submarine landscape backed by a solid and hypnotic 808 drum pattern.
‘A Birds Migration’ goes deeper into dub territory, with profound metallic chord washes bouncing on the corners of the stereo spectrum.
‘The Dub’ displays hints of glitch and a great ear for sound design. The track keeps building, element after element, and feels ostensibly oriented towards a club setting, breaking up halfway just to come back stronger afterwards. The fierce chords and rotating delays are not just there for decoration either.
‘In Trust’ continues on that clubbier note, with heavy rhythm machinery going on right from the start, steady hihats and industrial sounds recalling the softer side of the Downwards discography.
‘Moirer’ feels more current, in keeping with the warehouse vibe, and features great feedback layering with subtler percussions at play.

Zzzzra stays true to the original Ocean Ground in that it keeps a distinctly squelchy vibe, but it transforms the original chords into weird flute-like instruments while adding a layer of superb dubby sounds to the mix.
Grad_U then goes for a much softer and hypnotic reincarnation of The Dub, which slowly and beautifully unfolds over the course of its 10 minutes.
Closing the release is a Sublime Porte version of In Trust, with rolling thunderous chordal hits in the background, supported by a stepping house rhythm and a great construction throughout.”

Juno6 : Devils From Darkonia [brq79]

“On his third EP on Broque, Stefan Schultz (alias Juno6) merges his musical influences and roots – ranging from Boards of Canada to the likes of Ricardo Villalobos and Jeff Mills – in the most direct and stunning way so far. Stefan is no stranger for most: his releases on Freude am Tanzen, Cargo Edition or Liebe*Detail gained a lot of attention as did his label “Oh!Yeah!” which he runs jointly with Sven Tasnadi and Daniel Stefanik. His new EP on Broque features five new, analogue electronic gems, which are only occasionally grounded on the dancefloor and wander off the beaten track to open up truly mind-bending perspectives. Techno history, personal reference points and state of the art sounds, are all melted into very unique and magical tracks. Devils from Darkonia clearly doesn’t need to adopt established dancefloor stereotypes but simply scores with original personality and character. The five tales on this EP could easily fill entire club nights, but for the moment, we are simply immensely grateful about this fantastic EP.”

Brickman : Traveling [did-063]

“An album with a warm minimalistic approach influenced by electronic melancholy and echoes of dub! The beatless ambient on a few tracks is used nicely with a mellow warm flow, occasionally sounds and blips of dub-techno elements appear.”
