“A mix of our core artists came together for this special conceptual compilation, where each was tasked of creating two separate pieces residing in specific regions on the frequency spectrum. After submission they were then blindly combined with a complimentary piece without any arrangement editing. The end result was a successful exercise in randomized techno and telepathic collaboration, a perfect way to celebrate the inaugural edition of worldwide Netlabel Day!”

“This year La bèl will turn 5 years old and we wanted to celebrate its birthday by publishing a La bèl compilation with all the artists that collaborated with us during these years. The idea is to ask each one of their for a ‘pop’ track, leaving complete freedom to their personal interpretation of this word. We think this would be a nice idea, since hardly any of their works within the ‘pop’ scene. La bèl pop (fifth anniversary compilation) is the final outcome of this experiment.

This compilation is published to coincide with the first Netlabel Day.”

the same. The first crossing is an improvisation. as we leave the shore
behind, we do not know where we will land. crisscrossing streams of
melody, fractal rhythms beat against the hull. tides turn. narratives
unfold. each crossing is a different story.
water remains water.
resonating to sound spirals, we surf the crest. in suspension, we listen.
pony truss to spandrel arch. steel cables balance. bowed by the wind,
like a deep fat bass drone. the span so wide like never-ending breath.
like a geography not yet translated we sing with mounts and ravines roll.
thunderous scat. clattery keys. the bridge stands whatever weather
patterns will pass. the gate opens, a boat load of dreams. cargo five and
unfinished business.
