NIC BOMMARITO :: Taciturn [12rec.037]

“The Taciturn LP fuses instrumental Rockmusic with moments of Alt. Country and epic Indiepop, keeping an eye on melody and structure. Imagine a mixture of Canadian GY!BE, the Americana Avant-Garde of Chicago’s Brokeback and the huge melodies of Italian Postrockers Giardini di Mirò. Nic Bommarito might not be the perfect musician, but he knows how to build up a song. For example, Taciturn I lasts nearly 10 minutes but you won’t regret any single second. There’s a strong sense of yearning throughout the whole LP that invokes a lot of pictures. Badly Asbestos-Covered sounds like desert and sea at the same time, bringing together slide guitar and accordion. The heavy string-arrangement for the final track I Never Listen is among the most touching I’ve ever heard.”

MICRONAUT :: Die Gewürz EP [FS006]

“Micronaut, a sound collage project working with ambient sounds, various samples and live guitar, had its first successes within different art exhibitions e.g. Artgenda in Hamburg, Castle Plüschow, Sehnsucht_Identität_Farbe (work-in-progress / performance), the Kulturgüterbahnhof and the Albert Watson exhibition in Rostock. The dubbing of microkosmos rangs among the most interesting projects.

Shortly after, micronaut created, after the request of a friend, for the first time he played a live set with danceable beats. As a result bookings with Chris Korda, Kombinat 100, Asci Disco, Savas Pascadilis, Ada, Notwist, Wighnomy Brothers, Metope, Jake Fairley, Paul Kalkbrenner, Apparat and Phono followed. Micronaut had releases on Tussikoffer and Voltage Musique.

The live set sounds energetic and lives on the guitar, where the roots of his music are to find. Simultaneous to this, ‘micronaut’ appears as a Drum and Bass DJ under the pseudonym Sterngucker” (No Response).

The new release by Fingers in the Noise consists of dub techno oriented Deep Episodes – an original song revisited by four artists (The Nautilus Project, Sonitus Eco Overblast and Gr-oy). The essence of the original title is preserved and each artist has added that little extra that makes this EP a real pleasure for all aficionados of the genre.

“Munich-based Dirk Lamprecht is not just longtime friend of the Broque family but also well known through his DML-releases on Harthouse, Kailash or his own Gruenfeld label. Therefore, we are even more proud to present his Munique EP now on Broque. Here, five terrific new dub techno epics take the time they need and, over an overall play time of more than 40 exciting minutes, live out their very original symbiosis of Basic Channel/Burial Mix retrospection and contemporary Dub Techno sounds as they are most well-known from labels such as Modern Love. Thereby some true floor fillers emerge, such as the dark grooving and delay-laden killer tracks Freimann, Forstenried, and Neuperlach which are likely to become regular dancefloor occurrences in the future. In addition, the EP sports atmospheric and drifting dub tracks with more of a roots dub character (Sendling I, Sendling II). Inspired by field recordings in the Bavarian city of Munich, the track titles just underline that Dirks hypnotic Dub Techno effortlessly finds a balance between tradition and modernity.”
