One might assume that a certain kneejerk maximalism has haunted Slavic or Baltic music in recent years. Released, with little warning, into the international arena, musicians from Eastern Europe have maybe felt obliged to chase countless styles or fashions. Maybe panic and pomp have developed as a result?
Our first album is designed to counter that faulty assumption. In other words, where one might expect anxiety and gaudy excess, we instead offer fourteen champions of elegance and confident restraint.”
