“Sanatoriums, historically utilized for convalescence, intersect with contemporary interests in mental well-being. This study examines the impact of crystalline soundscapes on mental disorientation within sanatorium settings. Utilizing immersive audio environments, participants experienced varying levels of crystalline sounds. Results indicate a correlation between soundscapes and mental disorientation, with higher clarity leading to increased disorientation. These findings suggest potential therapeutic applications for sound modulation in sanatorium environments. Understanding the interaction between auditory stimuli and mental states informs holistic approaches to mental health treatment in rehabilitative settings. Further research is warranted to optimize sound interventions for enhanced patient outcomes.”

“db-Maui is a new addition to the Broque roster and on his EP Die Sterne und das Unicorn he got us hooked immediately with five tracks, each of which seems to have inhaled its own piece of club history. The chords of ‘So Pretty’ (feat. Herr Michels) are driven by energetic vocals and roll funky across the dancefloor. Its very tight production wouldn’t seem displaced in a Joris Voorn set. With ist slightly distorted vocals, the melodic electro sound of ‘Sterne’ exudes a wonderful retro charm reminiscing of the likes of DMX Crew and IF. Ist marching ‘Mondmann Edition’ comes with subtle acid lines and transforms the spirit of the track into a playful peak-time banger. The longing vocals of deep and melodic ‘You’ combine Pampa-esque rave pop with melancholic club romance to create a small masterpiece, while ‘Unicorn’ is once again a little more percussive and direct, dancing towards the sunrise with a deeply embraced TB303 in its arms. Each of the five tracks has what it takes to be a club hit in its own way and seems to have been polished with great attention to detail. The phrase ‘no fillers, just killers’ probably was invented for this EP. One wonders why we are learning about db-Maui only now. From Ruhrpott with Love!”

“… Porclain is a free ambient/dubtechno/electronica Album, including my most intense, original and emotional, nearly forgotten tracks I did between 2009 and 2011.

I would descripe this music as a deep, intense, atmospheric, experimental journey between melanchony, love and darkness and looking back,
this time was the beginning of my experimental phase, which actually continues to this day.

It definitely had a little to do with the fact that I had found a lot of new music on the www. to be more precise, I suddenly listened to the WARP and PLANET-MU catalog for days
and my own, minimal techno music seemed very simple and not particularly sophisticated and I had a kind of “longing” to produce such music too,
this desire still exists today and to be honest, I am very happy that it turned out this way …”
