aspect. & Schulz_Audio : ROR Split Series 2 [SS2]

“Portland, Oregon musician Sage Taylor has been experimenting with sound and electronics as a hobby for over a decade, and has tapped into a wide range of styles in the electronic music spectrum throughout the years. His present-day output is likely to touch on quiet ambient music, soft, melodic IDM or dubbed-out ambient techno, but the goal remains the same as always: to create new compositions for people to zone out to. He has had numerous releases and appearances on label’s like Shimmering Moods, Cold Fiction Music, Dubwax, and more.

Schulz Audio, a new face to the scene, has already had several impressive releases on Hello Strange & Teol.

Their collaboration to create this EP tells a story through the sound waves of Dub Techno, at times almost sounding like a Deepchord record.”

Mastermind XS : Keep on moving [DPH025]

Mastermind XS is a dub-project from Saarbrucken/Germany, created by Daniel Stephan (guitar, bass, keyboard, programming, sitar) and Heiko Petry (vocals, lyrics, melodica, keyboard). Their music is based on a solid dub foundation: heavy basslines with conscious lyrics and deeply rooted dub & reggae with an interesting twist, integrating many influences such as electro, ethnic music, drum/n/bass and even indie or punk. Their sound unites different styles, which hardly fits into one single genre and are always exploring new musical spaces, combining their Ableton skills and live instruments, forming a unique ear-candy-mixture of grooves.”

notforme! is the acoustic solo project from Pavel Mokhort, the singer\songwriter of the Karelian punk band Six-Pack Sunday. Since 2009, he has traveled half of Russia with occasional forays abroad, playing small bars and cafes. We Were Coalmine Canaries is a collection of travel notes, postcards and photographs from his shoebox of memories. Keep it simple: a guitar, a shabby plaid shirt and a couple of friends.”
