“On this EP, Smooth invited other artists to remix tracks of his previous ‘vintage-series’ releases. Originally moving in the fields of Dubtechno, the remixes present a wide spectrum of musical styles, from Electronica over Dubstep and Drum&Bass to Techno spiced with Acid.
The croatian producer Fortadelis adapts the theme of ‘Forever’ and transforms it into nice melancholic Electronica. UK based producer Dubabolical comes along with 3 powerfull Remixes between Dubstep and Drum&Bass. The Remix by Smooth Genestar is a Downtempo adaption of ‘Phase into Space’ switching to straighter beats in the second half of the track. “Here comes a new (the first for us) album by a Brazilian band Mercado De Peixe. In this new work, the band approaches the folk culture of the countryside of São Paulo to the dancefloors and to the global ghettos. Digital cumbia, africanism, garage rock, psychedelic rhythms, eletropical and post-bossa nova are some of the elements present in the eighth disc of Mercado de Peixe. The sextet is pioneer in merging pop and folk culture in São Paulo’s countryside. They use typical instruments like the ten strings guitar (viola caipira), accordion and their lyrics are inspired by ‘urban tales’ from Bauru, the town where the band was created. Besides the musical references, there’s also connections with nature. It is a result of a series of immersions carried out the band in Brazilian Cerrado landscape. Isolated from civilization, the band composed and made the arrangements for all of the songs. The album has guest participation of the singer and guitarist Saulo Duarte (winner of Prêmio da Música Brasileira 2015), percussionist Rômulo Nardes (from Bixiga 70 band), the singers Tika and Kika, percussionist Junião and multi-instrumentalist Pipo Pegoraro, who also mixed the work. Água da Faca was recorded with the support of the Government of São Paulo, by the cultural programme Proac.”

“We at KC have been fans of Street Fever for some time now.
One of our favorite things about his sound is how much it reminds us of 2006-2007 era electronic music – Justice, Boys Noize, Daft Punk, SebastiAn, etc. (We are big fans of Ed Banger Records over here.)
Recently, we were approached with the opportunity to release a single with Street Fever and flipped the conversation asking ‘well, why don’t we do an EP release?’
Within the next few weeks of conversation about the release, we had the opportunity to spend some time with Street Fever and see his live show at Denver’s UMS festival. On top of having a killer live set, he was also a super rad dude, we enjoyed hanging out with him.
This is the first EP release from Boise, ID artist Street Fever.”
