“Normally Lisbon-based, Sydney expat Raver’s Diary is Jorge Correia’s techno facing alias, where his CVU019 release tries to evoke fond memories of the city he was situated in. Through our early conversations with the artists, we managed to get a good sense of how important this city was to him, and how formational it was to his personality and his approach to music in general.

Relatively new to production, Saudade / Missing / Sydney EP is a generous display of what Correia is capable of, combining headspinning synth lines, chugging kicks, and sporadic percussion together with broader dubby & tool-like themes.”

“Fresh from a string of gorgeous releases including a record with Australia’s rapidly materialising standard for hard, fast, and off-kilter electronic music – Meganesia, as well as shows up and down the eastern seaboard in months prior, WakeUpNeo has been nothing short of a busy chap.

For his age, he shows an admirable level of grace and expertise in his productions, borrowing from the best parts of days gone by and revitalising them into something contemporary, crisp, and pumping. The Flying Conditions EP exemplifies this oh so tastefully, bringing 5 original works to our free unreleased series.

Warm moments are felt throughout the release, as we straddle electro, trance, and techno, following the continuous 4tothefloor chug. “One of our strongest core beliefs here at camp de la CV is that of authenticity. In our releases, in our voice, in our presentation, we aim to strip away all the unnecessary marketing speak, remove the disingenuousness that can come with online promotion, and do things for the love of it, not to follow a trend or appeal to a certain group of people.

So we do not say this lightly: Neo/Rejinald, real name Jack Raymond, is a once-in-a-generation type of artist. For having only been in the game for a relatively short amount of time, Raymond’s sound design, originality, composition, and technique are all beyond exceptional; freakish even. Apart from founding and releasing on the All Sorts imprint who we also collaborated with for ASCV101, Inceptive is the first comprehensive work that he’s put forward. The LP is split across two aliases – one more techno leaning (Neo), one DnB-oriented (Rejinald) – and we are thrilled to be able to present it to the world.

Absolutely thumping low ends, bright-yet-gritty pads, and steamrolling percussion occupy the virtual A-side of Inceptive, still upholding Raymond’s sense of feel-good techno. On the B-side, we find a dynamic, endlessly warm set of Drum n Bass rollers, that will fill your minds and hearts with joy. “Unveiling another special, relatively young Melburnian producer, Raverstaywifme presents the 16th edition of the Connection Verified Unreleased series: Pseudoscience. The mystery-clad hardware wizard caught our eyes and ears mainly through a bunch of wild self-released tracks that he put out online, with the wonky, tough, granular sounds grabbing our attention instantly. The Pseudoscience EP is no different.

Heavily influenced by the 909-focused, stripped back sounds of prior generations of electronic music, the release returns to the basics. Interesting sounds, beautiful rhythms, huge production, and the ravers sensibilities. We’re chuffed to have recruited a fresh new face to the label, and this EP is a wonderful showcase of what he can do.

“Returning for his fourth venture on the label, one of our oldest flagbearers Simon Mann presents: 3thical Plant Experiments – Equatorial Visions. A new bearing on Mann’s workflow, the 3PE project represents an unmistakable pivot in terms of sound design and production, turning from the more witching, dubby sounds of his namesake alias to something more humid, thermal, and organic in tone.

Describing the three tracks on Equatorial Visions perfectly, the EP vaults between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn, as if to sail through the warm air that sits above the equator. They are lively, animated, and sonically pleasing through and through.

“The 13th volume of our CVU series comes to us in the form of a split EP, featuring two artists who are both friends of the label and electronic enthusiasts in their own rights. Both .cite and half slept have been working overtime to shape and refine their sonic inscriptions, and Protanopia, for us, is a tight summary of all this work.

The EP is split between balmy, shape-cutting rominimal and more aggressive, hardware-driven techno sounds, with .cite and half slept also combining to bring you the first (official) track under their collaborative alias: Kolorblind. These works evoke a variety of places and spaces, from moving your feet to the swung rhythms as dappled sunlight penetrates the dance floor, through to more robotic movements as you approach dusk; punters grooving in sync to the calculated beats being laid down.

“If we spoke about Connor Wall earlier this year as a budding producer, it’s beyond question that now, even with only a few months behind us, he’s blossomed into an emerging heavyweight of Australian techno.

Going from strength to strength after a series of ballistic releases on Bomphcast Audio, Glasgow’s Oscillator One, and yours truly in collaboration with All Sorts, the Products EP showcases Wall’s trademark rigid, cold, frenzied sound.

“The auto/mates return with more saucy synthesis after their first EP with Bomphcast Audio, bringing another mixed bag of emotive, harmonious, interesting tracks to the CVU series. The tracks, as you’ll hear, are a testament to ADMINISTRATOR and half slept’s workflows when producing together, seamlessly sliding in and out of the driver’s seat, and pushing out tracks at a rate of minutes.

City of Cinder borrows elements from the electro, techno, and melodic spheres, meshing the genres in a peculiar yet pleasing way, and utilising anything from straight modular blips to digital-sounding plug-ins.

“While nestled quietly yet authoritatively in Melbourne’s live music scene as a performing percussionist of many years, Surana (aka Lucky Pereira – @surana-dj) strikes up a debut for CV and for this alias with: Underneath.

Pereira’s first soirée into faster, bolder productions, Underneath bumps up the tempo and catapults us through a fine selection of dance-worthy basslines, live percussive riffs, jolted hi hats, and bombshell energies.
