“Everybody knows about German platitudes: reliability, efficiency and zero imagination. At the same share of topics, Jamaicans have had just the opposite: joy, laziness and partying. Thesis and antithesis. But the never-failing and often wacky popular wisdom says the opposite ends are attracted as well. And these remote ends (also geographically) collided musically in the late eighties with such a huge outcome and vital consequences for the History of popular music. Synthesis.

We are not here to tell that story because it is well known between well-minded people. Here we are to tell loud and clear that this marriage between Germans and Jamaicans did, does and will do the very vigorous mixed offspring.

And this is how we’ve arrived until today when we must introduce you the brand new and needful work by Tarmac and El Fulminador. I’m telling you the truth: these two guys have spent many years cooking Jamaican food in German ovens. They really know what they are up to, and I can declare that the product you’re about to consume cannot be tastier.

The menu is as follows: a double first course, a vocal and an instrumental cut. Second course is a highly nutritive, cosmic and liquid variation on the main track. And Substak, the greek connection at Adeptlabel, has taken over the essential desert. This menu will be one of your favorites for a long time.

“We create sound, as a meaningful communication or as a vehicle for mind. If you want to truly hear our sound you must know how to listen not only with your ears, because our sound is not for entertainment.

We classify our music in three categories: contact music, background music and storytelling music. Contact music is when rhythms of sounds and compositions generate a very simple moment of a seamless connection between the listener and the sound, which evokes intuition, and an unusual sequence of events. These are moments when music resonates with imagination without leaving any kind of difference between the performer of the sound and the listener. Everything becomes one, and unusually simple. Background music is a stream of sound which is good for meditative kind of creative activities. It doesn’t matter if this activity happends only inside of you or outside as well. Storytelling music are compositions that express certain experiences, which are intended to lead you to focus on certain subjects. Our album Spacetime Resonance is a mix of background and storrytelling music.

Any kind of meaningful music reveals it self in an appropriate environment and time. There is a very good saying in Lithuania, which explains things that you can get without putting much effort into it. Translated into english it would sound something like this: ‘cheap sausage is eaten by dogs’.”

“For the 25th entry in the long-running Bedroom Compost series, we have a special set of three Axs albums, packed to the brim with unreleased works from his personal archives. The first volume, Rosewood Secrets, is a lively collection of 9 tracks that bounce and subside with a monochromatic clarity. Familiar elements of dub and minimal techno are frequent, and Axs keeps things moving from track to track, making Rosewood a varied and fresh listen. Renewed by a concise remastering job (courtesy of The Analog Botanist) and augmented with the addition of two new tracks (Restored Picture A and B – available on CD only) which themselves are reconfigurations of old session materials, Rosewood Secrets reveals only the basic elements needed to fully exhibit the talent behind the Axs name. The second and third volumes of the “secrets” collection will be issued in November and December, so keep an eye out for those too.”
