“Argentina strikes again! From the province of Mendoza comes DownBeat Dub, a four member live band with a twist! Emi Bless (Drum & SetLive), Jah Sound (Bass & Synth), Coco (Guitar) and Eter Dub (Keys & Brass) are mixing organic sounds with some heavyweight dubwise business. Electrorgánico is the name of their first digital release on Dubophoinic. Half organic and half electronic, Latin America is cultivating indeed some
serious dub vibes and is establishing itself in the world dub map!

Electrorgánico is also the name of their style, the result of their passion and commitment to explore dub music and introduce some new musical paths. The four musicians from Argentina are passionate and dedicated to the study and live performance of dub music. Their album is an amalgamation of many elements: analog meets digital, organic meets electronic, ethnic meets dub.

Starting with Coco’s guitar healing the nation, the journey continues with some funky dub sounds leading to an inside upliftment. Only to pause for some inspiration through the musically artistic interludes, admiring the view from the high mountains of Aconcagua, the journey continues in an everlasting musical creation. Tzelalot : Labyrinth [DPH019]

“Tzelalot is a movement of Word Sound and Power, having the explicit intent to communicate the mystical meditation about the Shadow of His Imperial Majesty Haile Selassie I, that is the meaning of this Ge’ez word.

In Ge’ez, the ancient churchical language of Ethiopia, Tzelalot means ‘Shadow’. Shadow is the ultimate shining blackness, generated by the presence of Light. As the Psalm 90 says, giving us freedom from carnal fear: ‘He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the Shadow of the Almighty’.

Tzelalot is an educational phenomenon expressing itself in several ways and sides, aimed to the complete ovastanding of the black mystery surrounding the King and dwelling in His Holy Inner. The crucial importance of this persuasion can be easily seen through an intelligent reading of the Gospel of Mark, chapter 4 verses 30-32: And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? Or with what comparison shall we compare it? It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that are in the earth: But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the Shadow of it.The secret of Jah depths, of Jah abyss, we desire. And shrouded by His Cloak we want to rest, knowing Qedamawi Hayle Selassie as the Omega Circle Fullfillment of the Whole I-niverse

Tzelalot has been founded by Matyas Tekle Selassie upon the solid Rock of the truly Ethiopian, Amharic speaking orthodox and Rastafarian tradition. Its crew is mainly composed by Bro. Kalad, Bro. Yosief and Etan-e Negus, but many more good brethrens and sistrens coopereng with I&I, through I&I spirit of love and ovastanding. Inspiration comes from Livitycal Powers. Big respect Midnite Band for their crucial examples and inspiration.

The fifteen tracks of Labyrinth compile only a small image of the works of Tzelalot, putting the best vibes together and showcasing the bright spiritual aura that emerges out of every track. As extra bonus we included two brand new tracks of Tzelalot, ‘I’ and ‘Ras Amlak’. From the consciousness of the ‘Wheel’ (sung in Amharic and English) and the uplifting vibes of ‘Cali’ to the Nyabinghi influenced chanting on ‘Jah-I-full’, Tzelalot leads you to an esoteric journey of meditation away from the Babylonian labyrinth of today’s society.”

Marco Mestichella : Mix Tape EP [KPL024]

“Marco Mestichella is a 24 years old recording and performing artist originally from Italy who moved to London in 2009 where he’s been producing and playing original music since.
He describes his style as ‘ILLPOP’ referring to it as a blend of trip hop, retro-pop, soft rock and cinematic music.
Marco’s debut EP ‘The Day I Killed My Ego’ was self-released in 2013, with the following release of two video-singles ‘Treason’ and ‘I Should Have Stayed Home Tonight’.
His new single ‘Fragments Of Light’ has been released earlier this month and plenty of new music is set to be released over the next year with new live dates in the pipeline.
Marco has been working with bristolian arranger/composer Joe Rodwell whom he has co-produced all his music with so far as well as collaborating with other underground songwriters like Turan and Claudia Heidegger.
Marco’s music is a crossover in between 70’s and 90’s productions, with hints of Portishead, Morcheeba, Isaac Heys and Pink Floyd, mixed with some old school Madonna and George Michael.”

Their debut album was released in early 2014 and later that year Dubartis comes up with a follow up album of alternate versions.

“After the huge success of their first release ‘Dub ina Midlands’ (awarded 4 stars by CCTRAX and included in dub.com’s Dubcast series) and their guest appearence on the EP of Red Star Martys ‘Time for Tea’, Koncrete Roots is back with more vibes.

Celebrating the first birthday of our netlabel, we are giving to everybody the free EP Rudie Dubplates with 5 tracks of wall-shaking basslines, irie sax and warrior style beats. This is our way to say ‘thank you for your massive support during this 1st year of our existence’. Ruff and tuff!

This is the first part of a special double release. The second part will be released two days later on Saturday the 26th of July, so watch this space!
