“Prolific Finnish producer Teemu T honours basic_sounds with his exceptional release Equanimity. Teemu T has been creating deep dub techno soundscapes for well over two decades with releases on Pohjola, Instabil, Bio-mechanics, Zooloft, Carmarage, ZeECc, Quadrant Recordings and his most recent full-length album Entheoform on Confineless.

Equanimity opens up with ‘Elsewhere’ a dreamy dense atmospheric dub journey with reverberating pads combined with a deep pulsing bassline to tie it all together. The self-titled track ‘Equanimity’ is a contemplative subtle drifting eight-minute dub voyage alluding to feelings of floating. Reflective yet propulsive, for the ultimate dreamscape. ‘Essence of Noise’ closes the EP with an endless reverberating bounce of layered echo chords drenched in soft white washing textures. Overall a sublime configuration of airy chords, beautiful deep textures and pulsing beats, a stunning absorbing recipe.”

“Forget The Theory features two arrangements and five original pieces written by Kevin Higgins for his group Nature – a quartet with voice, electric guitar, electric bass and drums. The material was honed in a dozen live performances, then recorded over two days in spring 2012. The result is an album of dark grooves, mixing techno, funk and dubstep with contemporary jazz.

In the foreground, ethereal vocals and frenzied guitar carry on an improvised dialogue. Forget The Theory captures the energy of their alternating conflict and cooperation. Behind them there’s tension of another kind, as club-inspired drum beats threaten to melt into jazz cross-rhythms.

This album was built off basslines: some abstract and symmetrically structured, some just funky. Either way, every tune was designed to make you nod your head. Enjoy the bouncy pulse and powerful perfomances of a young band playing with passion.”

“We are very happy to present you Wondermachine 001. The title of the opening EP is Rosalong by Clarabella Olssen, it includes a remix by Storlon.

Clarabella Olssen is the alias of Andres Marcos Revellado used for spontaneous musical structures based on improvisation, live and field recordings. The music produced under this moniker is focused on trial concepts and impulsive arrangements. Andres Marcos never liked rules, Clarabella Olssen is the perfect alibi to share his vision.

Andres Marcos and Storlon have been collaborating on several projects already so they know each other very well and have a very compatible taste in music. Storlon has developed an unique and recognizable style, his interpretation of Rosalong is an illustration of his approach.

“Primarily known for his dub techno productions as one half of Overcast Sound, Michael Pettit’s solo alias, Chord combines his deep dub sensibilities with sophisticated explorations into minimal house and techno.

On his exceptional release Year as a Ghost, Chord delivers perfected spatially fractured piano-driven tech-house tracks. The first composition, ‘Now I Know and I Wish I Never Did’ slowly builds into a brooding experimental house track incorporating organic rhythmic percussion sounds, sultry male vocals, piano melodies and flowing strings. ‘High Catherine’ is a gorgeous dubby slow-groove driven by layered drums and gliding atmospheric drifts that gradually evolve under creatively timed vocal snippets. ‘Lost in the Market’ acts as an acoustic interlude by submerging the listener into a virtual space of wonder driven by contemplative atmospheric waves. ‘The Unsettled’ is a beautifully executed track with patiently layered rhythmic percussion beats and warm optimistic rising strings, highlighted with strong piano chords.
