“101, perhaps more well known by his dub techno alias Giriu Dvasios, has been a quiet but potent source of solidly crafted braindance in the last few years. Having released three previous 101 albums (they’re all fantastic) at his own Cold Tear imprint across the sea, RP gave him the secret handshake that allowed us to import this fantastic hardware funk jam to you dear people. What follows is a tightly produced record filled with many of the classic staples of the bedroom techno scene – vintage drum machines, acid lines with added squelch, firm basslines ready for your bins. Nothing unexpected, but that’s exactly what’s to be expected here at RP. Of course, the most defining element of 101’s work is his ear for melody, and you’ll find plenty here!”

“On this EP, Smooth invited other artists to remix tracks of his previous ‘vintage-series’ releases. Originally moving in the fields of Dubtechno, the remixes present a wide spectrum of musical styles, from Electronica over Dubstep and Drum&Bass to Techno spiced with Acid.

The croatian producer Fortadelis adapts the theme of ‘Forever’ and transforms it into nice melancholic Electronica. UK based producer Dubabolical comes along with 3 powerfull Remixes between Dubstep and Drum&Bass. The Remix by Smooth Genestar is a Downtempo adaption of ‘Phase into Space’ switching to straighter beats in the second half of the track. Ambient producer Jaja presents her sight of ‘Phase into Space’ with a more minimal and spheric version. And of course, theres also a Remix of ‘Nothern Star’ by Smooth himself.”

“Bozal is a possible extinct Spanish-based creole language that may have been a mixture of Spanish and Congolese, with Portuguese influences. Attestation is insufficient to indicate whether Bozal Spanish was ever a single, coherent or stable language, or if the term merely referred to any idiolect of Spanish that included African elements.

Bozal Spanish was spoken by African slaves in Puerto Rico and Cuba and other areas of South and Central America from the 1600s up until its possible extinction at around 1850. Although Bozal Spanish is extinct as a language, its influence still exists. For instance, many Kongo words are found in the lexicon of the Puerto Rican dialect of Spanish. [wikipedia]”

“Here’s another man on a mission, flying high with perfect summer vibes of tech and deep house. Sam Simpson (Multi-mission) has been producing music since 2009. He graduated from Ohio University in the United States, majoring in audio-production, and operates under a few different aliases geared towards dance music. Multi-mission is a refined voyage into space and dub music with the dance floor in mind.

*Elevon is the name of the wing element on the space shuttle that aids in aerodynamic flight.

*Draft refers to the aerodynamic property where a vehicle in front will ease the drag on the second vehicle, provided the second vehicle is aligned in the slipstream directly behind the first vehicle.
