“For years, Morgen Wurde has been creating cinematic soundscapes that are dark yet romantic and reminiscent of the forces of nature, which appear to humanity in many ways, sometimes calm, majestic and engaging, sometimes unaffected, threatening and repellent. After all, the music of the Kiel-based artist always revolves around existential emotions in the face of the unfathomable wonder of existence. Intense psychedelic soundscapes also characterize the sound of Tis whose tracks exude an incessant drive through unstoppable minimal yet deep techno grooves. The work of the Hamburg-based artist has taken on epic proportions under various project names featured on his own labels, formerly Verform Records and now Roo Records. The mysticism and stoicism of these approaches find expression on their joint EP Zeitigt. Embedded in atmospherically dense deep minimal techno beats, sublime acoustic sounds from two further artists give this EP its signature sound: elegiac vocals by Maria Estrella Aggabao and haunting violin playing by Georges-Emmanuel Schneider. The voice of Las Vegas-based Maria Estrella is enthroned here as an ethereal angelic instance, animating ‘Sinkt’ and ‘Birgt’ with their emphatic mood. In his work, violinist Georges-Emmanuel Schneider wanders between free improvisation, modern and contemporary classical music, he also likes to create genre-bending sounds through sound effect units. On this EP, he introduces the spectrum of three instruments – acoustic and electric violin and the rare Stroh violin -, giving ‘Weiß’ and ‘Weist’ a unique atmosphere. Finally, Tis rounds off the EP under his moniker Synthesis with a slimmed-down mix of ‘Weiß’, smouldering darkly in the deepest corners of the echo chamber.”

“The fifth single in Lamont Kohner‘s ongoing catalog, Dusk Requisite offers a more subdued dub techno atmosphere that eventually opens up under the weight of a watertight bass drum. B-side ‘Hollow’ recalls the greasy city streets that are never very far away from any LK tracks, with the sounds of a subway rave heard through the pipes and grates on the sidewalk, locomotive rhythms echoing the train tunnels themselves, before stepping aside to plant more resonant chords like seeds in the slick asphalt itself.”

“Andersworld, the Broque debut of Marie Wilhelmine Anders, is already an extremely multi-faceted work of art, which combines club music, storytelling and a curious approach to classical and electronic instruments in a virtuoso way, resulting in an album that always rests harmoniously in itself. As if the influences and facets weren’t diverse enough, the follow-up Andersworld Remix album takes that to the next level: across eleven remixes, eight artists stemming from a close yet extended circle of friends sharpen the electronic and club-oriented dimension of Maries songs. The first half dozen of tunes emphasise the straight bassdrum, leading to such fantastic dark dub techno dramas such as the dark yet euphoric Max Cavalerra remix of ‘Escape At Bedtime’. In a similar direction heads Tis alias Synthese, who reworks both ‘High (The Wind)’ and ‘Playing Instruments’ into fairly elegiac tunes driven by dubby grooves. Marie’s voice and piano dabs enliven Rene Wright’s remix in between techno and house, while US-based Jonathan Santarelli and Stefan Kranz transform ‘Summer Sun’ respectively ‘Keepsake Mill’ into dreamy yet deep trance epics. Finally, Mar io, Max Cavalerra, Rikaar and the wonderful Morgen Wurde get more experimental and created floating ambient tunes, where in particular the latter turns Marie’s voice with the help of time stretching and much love for the detail into a beguiling ambient drama for eternity. To describe our new release as a mere remix collection would be pure understatement: held together by Marie’s outstanding source material and Thomas Lutz‘ cover art, Andersworld Remixes represents a collective piece of art, which further deepens as well as broadens Maries original invention that is the Andersworld.”
